So if you are one who uses a light meter on a regular basis what would it be worth to you to have a light meter that not only measures reflected light but also grabs an image/geotags it/adds the exposure metadata and can throw it in Dropbox all at the same time?
How about FREE. For your iPhone only.
Gotta love the Apple app world. Heard about this neat little app from Nuwaste Studios. FREE?? there's gotta be a catch.
Downloaded Pocket Light Meter today. Gave it a try against my very expensive Sekonic L-758DR. Gotta tell you in almost all cases it was on the spot and never seemed to be more than a 1/3 of stop off. It even is somewhat spot metered with a red square you move around the screen with your finger.
So like the saying about the best camera is the one you have with you if you are into manual exposures and the meter in your camera has proved to be not so great give this a try.
The reason I do manual metering is for multi exposure (HDR) panos. Some of my landscape panos are 9 frames wide by 3-5 exposures deep. Manual exposure/metering for me gives the most exposure stability for stitching.
