Glad you like my work. Read the wording carefully. We are not asking for perpetual rights over your work for any purpose, only in the context of the magazine. Think about it. We are going to print your images in the print version. We are going to put it in an app version. Both of those we would like to be available indefinitely and of course once someone buys them we can't revoke their copy. So we do need perpetual rights for use in the mag. We also need the rights so that we can do "Best of" issues, or perhaps a book of the best work we've profiled. For that we need the rights. We also need the right to show your images in advertising for the mag that we might do. If your image is on the cover shouldn't we be able to use a pic of the cover in advertising?
We've tried really hard to only ask for the rights we need to do the magazine and that's it.
