On the average, I pay about $2 per sheet of 1/8"x32x40 foamcoare locally (in fact, it's the same price locally whether 1/8" or 3/16"). I choose the 1/8" over the 3/16" to conserve on bin space.
Cut into two 20x30's, each board would cost me about $1. This is (also) my preferred method for backing loose prints. I'll echo the sentiment that it looks so much nicer than cardboard.
