The conservatives have also voted to cut all federal funding for National Public Broadcasting, too. They want to eliminate all vestiges of "humanism" - or as the fundamentalists call it today, "post-modernism" - whether in art, media, or social services. It's unfortunate, but artists and arts organizations need to be politically active to protect themselves.
