Here in Far West Texas there are Border Patrol checkpoints, and when you roll down your window to talk to them they stick their heads inside the vehicle to check it out, and a dog is walked around the vehicle to sniff for drugs. The UPS guy told me that his truck had to be scanned by a portable X-ray machine (in a truck)recently, which he'd never had to do before. I wondered if that would ruin digital media but a search online seems to indicate x-rays do not harm digital files in cameras, computers, etc. But magnetism does. I don't know... It's annoying, but (snark alert) I suppose it's the "price of freedom."
