Unless you have the exact same selection on the web as you bring to
art shows, it's not a fair comparison. For some of you just getting
started doing art shows, you'll possibly see a spike in your web site
traffic after shows. But it depends on how well you promote your web
site in your booth. That includes a booth sign with your domain name
and your web site featured (at the top in large letters) on all
printed materials you distribute. Successful marketing of your web
site is not easy. If you have an e-mail address on a business card or
flyer, you're wasting an opportunity to get people to your web site.
You should be sending them to your web site to contact you.
Do people find your web site without having to attend an art show?
How is your search engine placement for the things you want to be
found for? What is it about your work that makes it different from
the millions of other photographers out there and can your web site
be found for that difference?
