Kim Dever Thibodeaux. I am a lifelong resident of South Louisiana - a place like nowhere else on earth. I appreciate the people, the culture, and the beauty that surround me and want to share them with the rest of the world through my photography.
After a decade-long hiatus, I dove back into photography head-first! I received my first digital SLR from my husband for Christmas, 2008, and have been a manic shooter ever since. I prefer nature and other non-human subjects the most. I do shoot family and friends on occasion, but nature photography is my passion. I have a ton of shots on Flickr, but very few are frame-worthy. All I have to do is look back at my photostream to see how far I've come. I will upgrade my camera body eventually, but for now I feel it's more important to improve my skills. I have invested in a couple of nicer lenses, though.
For about a year now, I've been selling blank greeting cards, which I assemble using 4x6 prints. Lately, I've been getting requests for larger prints. I am not always happy with the quality of my photography, which drives me to do better. I own Photoshop and did finally install it on my computer, but I am very intimidated by it. I would rather spend what little time I have on the weekends shooting than learning how to use it. Knowing that my editing abilities are limited does drive me to make better photographs.
After much encouragement from family and friends, I am thinking of trying to sell at local shows. I have been researching the show scene online, which is how I found this group. I hope to learn a lot from your experience and perhaps contribute a little along the way, if possible. I believe in sharing what I've learned with others.
