Yes Peter & Ron,
It is silly. I do both. I paint, did graphic illustration and commercial- while I was in Advertising management. And I've photographed as well. For nearly 35 + yrs. Now, the economy has a downturn, yes. But, I've always done art - while working a fulltime position. Many times the fulltime position, did not give me the opportunity to work on my own "body of work", but if one is in either type of talent area, and they BOTH take talent and education to do well; it's all subjective. This is why perhaps many of the 'old school - pre-computer' talents get upset; I feel. Things have changed, like all fields. The competition field has expanded for others to participate. It's made it tougher for ALL of us.
But, both takes good talent in whatever they do, and should always be respected and not looked- down upon.

I am a believer in the best turning out, if the work is being done. I do not travel full-time as an artist/photographer to make a living. I work an administrative job, in another specific field to pay the bills. I worked in advertising many years, and grew tired of the fighting, the ego's, the back stabbing. And just wanted to be free, and paint and photograph. That - took about 10 yrs to change careers, traveling to about 4 different states before finding the best fit.

If some are not happy with being next to either talent, painter, bead artist, photographer, or whatever. Maybe, perhaps they should just change the scenery. Respect, those at all times whom do what we value. And, be respectful more so of themselves. That is where true art begins, from the inside to the outside.

Peace - and Cheers, to those whom understand.
Keep creative thinking going, it's the little bit of spiritual we all have left.

Re: [artshow_photo] Some noise in downtown Dallas

Excellent series, it probably wasn't dynamite tho. They usually use a mix of
linear shaped charges and small charges of other material like TNT. It's
called controlled explosion.

[artshow_photo] Some noise in downtown Dallas

Hi Everyone!

I have the huge honor to be in downtown Dallas yesterday morning
when a months-long demolition project reached its planned end.  Aside from the
wonderful photo opportunity, I cannot begin to describe the feeling and sound of
500 pounds of dynamite when you're, basically, across the street and 20 floors
up from the blast.

I KNEW better than to wear--UGH!!! WHITE--when behind glass, but getting up at
4:00AM all excieted just plain helped me forget my professionalism.  So, they
are what they are, but take a look at
http://www.walkerdesignworks.com/fbcdallasdemo.htm which includes photos from a
stroll around the block where the buildings and area were having final prep work
done on Friday.

[Totally-Bouncy-Gallery] File - * NEW NOTE! *

We have a new photo album!

Think "2007" or "where the new photos are"!

If you can see them, Congratulations!
go the the "2007" album, follow the description and get
the best of the best Glamor photos!

If you can't see photos or albums, like some people.
sorry, your out of luck.

As for Totally Bouncy Gallery, don't fear loyal members,
TBG is still going to be here and some (not all) of the
photos will still be here too.

WE ARE NOT GOING ANYWHERE!

I'm just trying to get the people who can see the photos,
even more a chance to get the best of Glamor and Fashion.

I wanted to take Glamor to a new level in CLASS!!

But members abused that, tried to upload pics that were
not of Glamor, ect, and only sent spam in messages.

This group is now 17,000+ members strong... and yet, how
many Totally true members are there?

Well, now management is going to find out.

If you can see the album, if you can see the photos, and
if you put a little time and effort into it... you can
still see the Best and classicist Photos on Yahoo!

If you can't ( AND NO! WE STILL DO NOT E-MAIL PICS! ) then
you can still be here.

So, now your in the know!

Re: [artshow_photo] Pens for signing on canvas prints

Hi Gary:

If you want a silver pen, there are a few like this one, sold at art supply stores- I don't have the name of the one I've used on canvas, but this looks like it:
http://www.artistsupplysource.com/product.php?productid=43354

The paint markers can be messy and unpredictable, but they are thick:

[artshow_photo] Re: Pens for signing on canvas prints

The last time this was discussed I changed from gold/silver paint markers (which are prone to leaking blobs of ink) to gold/silver Sakura Gelly Roll pens. I don't know the size of the tip, but I think it is quite a bit larger than .4mm and I think they show up pretty well.

Looking for suggestions on pens to sign canvas prints. I've been using a rollerball gold or silver but they are .4mm bal. I am looking for something that has a wider point. The rollerball just doesn't really show up well on large canvas prints.
