Were these crafters' booths? If they were then they were most likely concerned with other crafters taking photos of their designs then copying them. It is unlikely that they would go to the effort to sue they would probably just get hostile and tell you to leave. But, it is their creative work and there would not be much difference between photographing their creations or photographing any other piece of art or copyrighted item.
