I use M and shoot 3-9 shots by changing the shutter manually on a sturdy tripod.
Much more control, longer sequences possible, bigger/smaller EV steps etc.
I use mainly PTgui Pro for generating either real HDR or exposure fusion (Google it),
which typically gives a lot more realistic results than tonemapping, but with a huge
dynamic range..
As I shoot mostly panoramas I need to use fixed WB/ISO/focus/aperture/shutter, and
Olympus doesn't give me the option to use AEB in M mode :(
