Re: [MyOlympus] IR Photography - Why?

IR photography, like HDR photography, is often overdone and very
in-your-face when a person first learns how to use it. It's like selective
coloring: everyone has tried it, but once you get beyond a certain point,
you realize it's just a gimmick that sells you a few wedding prints. IR
photography, especially when combined with color, can provide an ethereal
feel or highlight things that are IR bright but VS dim. Don't judge it by
what you see on Flickr. Again, a LOT of people no longer do HDR or IR
photography after they realize that their photos are rather blah and look
like every other out there, so the good IR and HDR artists are far
outnumbered by the novices.

Just my 2c.
