[artshow_photo] Re: Online shopping carts LONG POST

Yeah, Ron. We hear you. I'm gearing up for a large sale to raise funds for some upcoming projects. Our needs for shopping carts, as photographers, are pretty complex - even if we mostly produce three sizes of LE works. This is my current modus operendum.

I've just decided to bite the bullet and go all out with the expensive PS solution. I really don't like giving away another 8 percent of my income to another service (Photoshelter charges a 10% commission) but I have to make the process easier, freeing up the back and forth emails to talk about projects -- and build support for my work -- rather than just the financial sale transactions.

In theory, I'll put more time into promoting my work - newseltters, etc. -- than dealing with the whole finances of my printsales. I'll let you all know when the shopping cart is live; I'll have a sale in October and will have some results and opinions by the end of next month.

Best,
N
