That's the best plan for one of these I've ever seen!

It's not even worth calling the bank to see if the funds are there, they
probably are. Depositing the check will, depending on the terms of your
bank, result in a nice balance within a day or two. However, when the
actual transaction takes place, there might not be. Worse yet, there is
the possibility that the check is good, that the funds will stick, and
that the check itself is a forgery and you will be expected to return
the full amount when it is discovered. When the company reviews the next
bank statement and sees that it doesn't match any register entries, it
probably won't be until early to mid October, and I believe they have
six months to file a claim.

For anyone else, just sticking it on the bulletin board with a pushpin
would be appropriate, but as a photographer you probably have frame
pieces laying about that will be suitable to a more impressive presentation.
