I don't see it as a huge inconvenience, but it should be a voluntary one. When I ran a science fiction/fantasy art show for an annual convention, I usually opened an hour early to accomodate the volunteers who were often unable to come in during con hours to shop/bid. Granted, I was in there by myself, and as Art Show Diva I could make that allowance.
