Re: Selling Stock Photography Re: Microstock: up, down or the same?

Maybe we should remember too that one shoe does not fit everyone. We need many different avenues, and we can only find out if anything is useful by trying it.

Brings my mind to an unrelated but true story (I've met the guy). A packaging company tried to come up with a new packaging system for milk. Everyone said it was no need, exciting packages were just fine and enough. One guy came up with the idea to seal plastic coated paper from outside with heart. The boss rubbished it immediately, it would never work. Then he went home and told his wife over dinner about this stupid idea, and she snapped "How do you know, you never tried". He did try, and became a billionaire.

Now - returning to stock photography.  What's next. Anyone with any stupid ideas. Let's hear about them, and don't forget past crazy ideas like Microsoft, Google, Skype or Apple.

This is very true and very few people have done more boat rocking in the past few years than
Sean has. He's really made a splash using micro as a platform and proved that it's a viable
way to market professional photography.
