I use a 2006 Honda Odyssey with a Trimline Flourish and mesh panels. I've seen others use older Odysseys, which are smaller, with a LightDome and 6' ProPanels. My set up usually has two French panels in addition to the perimeter walls.
I had a wooden platform built by a local business that does custom crating for moving companies. The platform creates a "false floor" about 10" in height. I put my lead weights and canopy tubing underneath this platform. Then I put my framed artwork (pastels under glass) on the top surface of the platform, standing on end and spanning the width between the side doors. I can't fit enough work to do a 4 day show, but I can get enough in there for a 3 day show. Which is all I really want to do on the road anyways.
The wood platform includes a vertical piece that is a pseudo wall behind the two front seats. If I have to stop hard, it's a backstop for the artwork so that things don't go flying. Of course, in a real crash, I'd be toast because nothing is bolted down. But I drive very, very carefully when I'm loaded down like that. So far, so good.
I LOVE the Odyssey. It rides quietly like a posh car, has a great stereo system that, and it's a very smooth V-6. It has an automatic 3-cylinder shut off when you coast down hills, so I've been able to get 28mpg across I-80 in the Poconos. Do check into it.
