That's how I would do it anyway. Maybe you should try it with a couple of
5x7s to test but it should work.
Incidentally, I've successfully mounted my (rag paper) woodcut prints on
wood that way. Woodcut print collectors are waaaaaaay picky about any
permanent mounting so I had to rack my brain and come up with a solution.
But I print mostly with oil based inks so have no problem with inks running
when covered with anything.
