I am the owner of Frame Destination (I am very grateful to others that mentioned us). Although some places will advertise buffered paper mats as acid free I generally do not recommend that art sellers use those since they geared towards decorative framing and not towards archival framing. We carry both alpha cellulose (Bainbridge Alphamat) and cotton (Bainbridge Alpharag) mat board. They are acid free, lignin free and treated with proprietary Artcare process. Mat board without Artcare process is fine for art resale and is less expensive but many companies will sell it for more then we sell the Artcare product so be sure to check the details when you comparison shop. The Alphamat is white core, but the Alpharag core color is the same as the mat color so only white if the mat is white.
We have quantity discounts starting at just 4 mats and our website automatically calculates the discount. We do not require a tax id unless you are based in Texas and want us to remove the sales tax. We ship from Dallas, TX which is within 4 days via Fedex ground to the entire continental US.
We cut all mats to order so we can do any size you need, but we need some order processing time. We are in the middle of our Christmas rush and running at a record rate so our turn around time on mats is 2-4 days instead of or more typical 1-3 days. We are trying to hire people and have pulled in temp help but I have to be careful with trying to ramp up production to fast because we are known for our quality.
