[artshow_photo] Re: Credit Card Acceptance

We typically do 50% or more of our sales as credit card sales (even the small local shows). It seems like no one carries cash or checks to these events anymore, and they are always thrilled to see that we take cards. Many larger shows place ATMs around but people are reluctant to use them (fees, etc.)
We use ProPay (without the little scanner) and love them. I input all our credit card transactions through the computer at the end of each show day, but if I am worried about a transaction or have a LARGE transaction, I can enter it on the spot in about 5 minutes by either using the internet on my smartphone (if I have data service available) or by calling it in which you can do on ANY cellphone (I've never been without cell phone service at a show).
ProPay does have transaction and monthly limits, but they have great customer service and are easy to work with. We recently did one larger show and I was worried about the limits being too low, so I emailed them and they upped my limits for the weekend of the show just like that.
