Fourth St. in Louisville does "false corners", so does Ann Arbor State
Street... the list goes on.

A corner can be real helpful for retail traffic flow if you can open
up a side so that customers have both an entrance and a visible exit.
Also look at which direction the traffic is flowing. People move up
and down the street, but generally stay to the right. If the "corner"
is on the upstream side of the traffic flow, it won't help a lot in a
false corner situation. But it still may be advantageous if you need a
relief exit. People hate feeling trapped in a one way booth.
