The original iMac had a tube, but that was ages ago and it was only a
15". Those were discontinued March 2003. Somehow I don't think anyone
would worry too hard about replacing the 6 GB drive in one of those!

As I recall, the high-voltage lead to the tube was pretty well
protected, you wouldn't have reason to encounter it when replacing the
drive.
