I'm not sure where, but I read that the limit expires over time. They
don't want someone to come along and get a Square and commit a rash of
credit card fraud with it, but building up to several hundred dollars a
day would not result in funds being held. It would make sense that a
steady pattern of usage would be recognized as legitimate and really
spiky usage would be seen as potentially problematic. Alas, exactly the
same pattern would match someone using it intermittently for shows.
Someone that did shows every weekend shouldn't have any problem, other
than the first three or four shows of each year.

Alas, if it takes a week to contact them it might not be the best system
to use for something as critical as card processing.
