I'm late to the discussion here, but I thought I'd mention what I did. I wanted something automated. I had previously done my galleries with Gallery 2 on the server, but for various reasons wanted to switch to something I didn't have to program on the server when I wanted to add selling. I decided on jalbum where the program runs on your desktop (in my case windows, not sure if it runs on Macs) and creates the pages. The "skin" I chose (chameleon) supports paypal in an automated way, creating the links/prices for each entry. It's not as flexible as it could be, so if every item has a different price, it would be more work than my case.
