[artshow_photo] Re: Printing --> Matte vs Glossy?

A year ago I printed samples of about 25 different papers on an Epson 3800 to determine which worked best for my color and b&w images. This was an excellent way to compare a variety of different glossy and matte surfaces, and I would recommend that everyone do the same.

For my purposes, my two favorite papers were Epson Exhibition Fiber and Museo Silver Rag. I ended up going with the Museo Silver Rag as my paper of choice because it looked terrific with both my color and black & white photographs, with its luster surface, and it has no optical brighteners, so the prints will look the same for many decades. I had previously used an Epson matte paper for ten years, and the new results are dramatically better--for me.
