Getting a new canopy this spring would really stretch my budget to it's limits.
If I could get through this spring with the old canopy it would be a lot easier
financially. By next fall's festivals I could afford the new canopy.
The top is not vinyl, it is fabric. Do you think this would work on fabric? Is
silicone chalk and acetone available at places like Home Depot, or where would I
find it. If I tested a small corner, would it show up right away if it was
going to attack the top.
Looking at the top this weekend in the sunlight, I could see tiny pinprick holes
in the top. Would this fill those in?
Is there a reason why you suggested painting the underside of the canopy?
Thanks for your help,
Marsha

If you need to make it thru one more season, then I suggest buying a tube
(might take more than one) of good clear silicone chalk. Get a can of
acetone and mix the silicone with acetone until you have a thickness that
you can paint with. Paint the underside of the canopy with that getting good
coverage. Check first to be sure that the acetone won't attack the vinyl top
layer.
