RE: [artshow_photo] Re: EZ Up weights

Wow, it's been so long. I was at a show in Colorado and this guy was selling
them off the back of his truck. I'm thinking I paid $160 for the set. He
would ship them anywhere for another hundred. Since then he closed down his
website.

Many other artists have gotten these from local machine shops discards much
cheaper. We don't have any manufacturing in Vegas (sigh) but I imagine any
raw metal dealers locally might be the best bet. You can Google iron square
stock or cast-iron stock or similar and hope for a local supplier.

Here is a page with some prices; they aren't cheap on the net and probably
cost money to ship:

An even clever-er solution for weights is to buy eight 2-foot pieces. On
regular days, you only hang one two-foot piece on each leg, on windy days,
you bring all 8 of them and hang two together on each leg. Easier to handle
in two-foot lengths. They all have to have rings welded on one end for
hanging/strapping but it's something I did myself and I hate working with
metal.

Maria - What do these square iron rods cost? Where did you purchase them?
