Actually and surprizingly one of the best printers I've found for all around
general printing is the Epson Artisan 810 multiple purpose printer.
It scans, faxes, prints on both sides and does an amazing job on
photographs. I can't tell the difference from a C print when using photo
paper.
Limited to 8.5x14. But also prints CDs. It's also relatively fast. We
printed our 200 copy Christmas letter on it. Cost about $150. and can use a
CIS.
