I think that may be right but it depends in what state you are. Three years ago
things went really bad. IL got hit hard last year and I expect to start getting
better this year but it wont catch up until 2012. Most other state other than
Texas are recovering but some are still hurting like MI, AZ and CA. Yes people
are buying but they are only buying what they can paid with there paid checks.
The trend is to not use credit card and if you use them paid them ASAP. Saving
money is more important. Having a year of saving is more important. You need to
talk to people that are been doing shows for while not just now. There are lot
factor and yes it had happen before this nothing new in our life. Yes we did not
see it this bad but we are see it before.

David said something in the Taking Off 2011 thread that sort of tweaked my brain
cells a tad.
He said "Considering the state of the economy" he did well last year.
I'll be honest, I have not been following the thread that actively but I feel
the economy can no longer be an excuse for anything. The economy is doing very
well!
The only people who believe the economy is doing poorly is the media who need to
sell their news and unemployed people. Yes - there are many unemployed people
(but not more then expected) but they are actually not the ones that buy art in
the first place.
This whole bad economy thing is fear driven and as long as people keep getting
told the economy is bad they will believe it.
The people that buy Art have been making double digit gains for two years in the
market and have jobs!
Last year was my first year "being out there" and from all the people I talked
to 100% said this year (last year) was much much better then the year before
(but not as good as the late 90s I guess).
Sorry - but I am pretty involved with watching the economy and we are about to
enter year 3 of a pretty good bull run and I expect this is going to be a great
year.
