| I agree it would be hard, and it would be like we would have to be a sales rep and web master. But that is the same thing as a blog site too, although it would be better I agree... Hhmmmmm these are good ideas, but something better would be better!! -------Original Message------- From: RK Date: 1/4/2011 10:08:10 PM Subject: Re: Selling Stock Photography Re: 'Photographers Direct' and 'PhotoDeck' One. We would just be another "bucket" with millions of photos, and nobody selling them. A cheaper copy of what already exists. Two. At least I would like to "stick with the knitting" and be a photographer, not a sales rep or web site administrator. Maybe the system of the blog sites is a solution, a common portal, and individual sites where we can put our photos, and then use the "theme principle". Those who are buying are not just going out there to buy a photo, they are looking for a photo on a specific theme, like wine, cooking, food, travel China, North Korea, etc. I think the solution must focus on that, and of course that someone will sell the service. Just now the stock photo sites are doing nothing but storing the photos, and we pay them annually and by commission for the sales work we do ourselves and for the photo work we do too. It is like a scam really. Myself, I am doing it by "viral" marketing, personal contacts, fee work and asking for references, free ads, and introductions as payment, etc. but I like to have something better.
