[artshow_photo] Re: CS5 vs. Lightroom or PLUS LightRoom

I think that photographers are working more in LR and ACR (or Aperture or Phocus or Capture 1 etc etc) and less in PS than before. I doubt that PS will ever be completely abandoned as there are still too many applications within PS that cannot be done elsewhere. But as RAW converters become more advanced in their technology and tools, less work will be needed in PS.
It's interesting how Adobe has turned out lately, offering ACR, LR, and PS, all under the same roof. Thomas Knoll (PS creator) once disclosed to Jeff Schewe in an interview that he has two totally separate groups of engineers and designers working in ACR and LR, with a green light for each department for advancements.
For some reason, I chose to work in ACR over LR when I purchased CS3. But LR is more advanced in certain areas to the point where I will purchase it when upgrading to CS6.
Since I shoot with a Hasselblad, I also have access to their RAW converter, called Phocus. It, too, is a powerful application, as is Aperture, but somewhere it comes down to chosing one over another, and going with it. LR and PS make a compatible marriage. So does ACR and PS.
As they say on another forum - "different horses for different courses."
