Absolutely, that's always been the business strategy. Come up with
products that they could sell in quantity to users who weren't doing
seps. They served markets that were never going to buy the full PS
(which went for $895 for a very long time), so as long as one of the
variants didn't cannibalize that core business, they didn't have to make
much off the offshoots to come out ahead.
