I haven't felt the need to use LR, I do a lot of work in ACR but on maybe a
third of my images I spend quite a bit of time in CS5. Layers and masking
are still very important and cannot be done in ACR or LR as far as I know.
There is some limited capability with adjustment brushes but they are very
minimal for precise work.
