I did not ignore this clause. I assume this means that if I limit my photos to be viewed by only friends, Facebook will honor my limits.
That is fine for those of us that know how to limit Facebook. But what about those that might want as many people as possible to see their images and they allow their photos to be seen by everyone? Do they realize that they are granting Facebook a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free, worldwide license to use any IP content that is posted on or in connection with Facebook? There are certain licenses that we have to grant Facebook in order for them to be able to post our content but there is nothing in the language that places limits on their use for those that choose to allow everyone to see their content. "....to use any IP content that is posted..... seems overly broad to me.
All of this from a company that has decided that they are now going to invite other users to download my images without allowing me to opt out. It should be my decision whether or not to allow others to download my images. Many people would not even think of downloading an image, but when the option is right there in writing I assume more downloading will happen. I rarely post images directly to Facebook because I don't agree with their tactics but in this day and age I feel I need a presence on Facebook. Being that does not mean I totally agree with how they do things.
