Hi,
Let me prempt this by saying that I don't exhibit and sell in outdoor
shows. This question is for indoor art exhibit not selling from a
booth. Feedback appreciated please:
I would love some feed back about selling 5 X 7 images...I am
preparing for a solo exhibit in May of images from my book. It is a
traveling exhibition so those images won't be for sale but people can
buy on my zenfolio site. A percentage of the proceeds goes to fight
Alzheimer's. The book I published in Blurb proceeds ALL goes to
Alzheimer's. As a matter of fact that is why I am exhibitng the images
to raise awareness and promote the book.
That brings me to having available some of the images for sale as 5 X
7...signed on the back (I use an archival pen)..In an envelop....I
bought 100 5 X 7 for 14.60 and 25 Sheer Translucent Env 25 Pack for 9.28
The envelopes was a BIG mistake..I could have bought 100 for less that
were the clear ones...
Anyway I am hopeless at math. I figure each card costs me around $1 to
make....Hence I sell them for $5????
That gives me a 3 dollar profit? I would donate a percentage of each
card sold to Alzheimer's.
I kow I have posted before the link but you can see some of the images
from the collection here...Beyond the Veil Collection all shot with a
modified D70 and later images with a modified G11 IR cameras....
Along with the exhibited images I will have visual poetry that is also
in the book alongside the displayed picture...

It has been my experience in the past that manytimes people don't want
to pay for a fully framed matted piece and will be more apt to buy a
matted piece in a portfolio bin of a smaller size. Since I won't have
the exhibited images for sale I was hoping some might want to buy the
smaller images...I would also sell some of the post card anouncements
5 X 7 at the same price that are left over from the exhibit.
