Great questions Paul! It has been my experience that work left in bins
are mostly matted in clear bags. Few if any are in clear bags just
with foam core and not matted. I have never seen any framed images in
a bin in any gallerys or shows. Framed work is usually displayed on
the walls. I would think the frames would tear the bags. It doesn't
make sense to me to have a frame in a bag. The glass or arclyric would
protect the image.

"Greeting All,
I recently had two images accepted into a local photography show where
they display the images for sale for a number of weeks. At the start
of the show is an artist reception where the photographer may bring up
to 6 additional images for sale as bin work at the reception. The
ground rules are if they are framed or canvas the artist needs to
bring their own bin. I am looking at taking 6 different framed pieces
to show off a variety my work and hopefuly drive some people to the
web site I am in the process of setting up. This is the first time
that I am trying to sell my work so I am more interested in displaying
additional pieces it in the best light to attract future intrest vice
the likelyhood of making some additional sales with smaller matted
pieces.
A have a couple of quick questions
If I put the framed images in transparent plastic bags in a bin, will
the bags hold up for a two hour reception, or am I asking for trouble
having frames in a bin as the bags may tear and the frames/backing of
the pictures may get damaged?
What do do people do for bins. Is this something that you have bought
online (where) or is it something that you made for yourself (what
materials).
Thanks in advance for anyhelp and appologies for treading very basic
ground for everyone who reads this.
