I was also at Frisco and while visiting with Josh watched him conduct a transaction, and it was indeed quite simple, and the customer seemed quite happy with it.
After seeing that, and reading these posts, I am also ready to switch, but my smartphone is neither Android nor an iPhone. So I am seriously considering getting an iPad.
One other thing, while poking around on the Square web site, I noticed you can also use it for a cash transaction. You enter the item, amount, press a cash button, and then have the customer enter their email (or phone number for a text) and they will then get an email receipt, and the sale is recorded along with your credit sales. You can then download a spreadsheet with ALL of your sales.
