I just take a photo of everything I sell just before it goes out the door.

I do like the cluster idea and tend have my triptics (sp) in order, but for me I
don't have any actual groups of subjects besides floral and the rest!

Michelle - I don't really think it makes much difference one way or another.
I've tried each way. But given the choice, I would prefer them organized by
subject if I were a patron. As a patron, I could jump directly to landscapes,
waterfalls, or whatever, and skip the cute chipmunks and florals. It can also be
advantageous to you each time you need to restock, as it aids you in keeping
tabs with inventory. You will have to "clean up" your bins a few times each day,
and replace prints in their rightful slots, as patrons often will not.

It is true that you can have "too many" prints. Browsers will often get bored
after a certain time, and leave. But the flip side to this is that they never
found anything worth purchasing anyway. If someone is really interested in one
of your prints, they will "pull" it as they continue to browse, or return to it
once they get tired, and buy it. So again, while there is certainly some
creedence to having too many prints, I doubt that it interferes with sales at
all.

Keeping your inventory well organized has its merits on many levels.
One important level is the multi-purchasing patron: When customers are looking
to create a cluster of similar subject images from your bin, having them
organized is by far the best and easiest way for the customer. If they want to
group waterfalls, seasonal images, cute animals, or whatever, they are more apt
to do so when the subject matter is separated, thus, it is quite arguable that
having them organized by subject may actually lead to better sales.
Go for it.
