Re: Selling Stock Photography Re: Portfolio

Thanks for taking the time to reply Duncan.

Very impressive images; but a FRPS dosen't need praise from me.

Zenfilio is certainly one I will consider.

Hi Joe

I cannot comment on Photoshelter but have to say that after over a year of use I am more than happy with my Zenfolio-hosted e-commerce site.

I love the ease with which it can be easily and quite dramatically customised without the need for code, the way it synchs with Lightroom, the big images, the easy way I can get my blog to link to images, the e-commerce facilities for both prints and downloads, the client sharing facilities and most importantly the truly excellent e-mail tech support.  (I had been dreading this before I signed-up but have found it to be the best I have ever encountered.)

We operate in an incredibly expensive sector.  I cannot believe I have just spent £900 on a Gitzo tripod and head, £200 on a polarising filter and over £4k on one lens!!  Put into this perspective my £60 ($100) Zenfolio fee pa seems incredible value for money.  I spend a lot on top-quality gear and it would be madness for me to skimp on the final link of the quality chain – presenting my work to the world.  If I needed to spend more I would but Zenfolio gives me all I need and is easy to manage.

If you check out my site www.duncangrove.com, click the tennis and squash links.  You will see how I have been able to create a microsite for my Wimbledon Tennis Championship images and another for The ROWE British Squash Grand Prix.  (The latter is the largest in Europe, I was Official Photographer and my Zenfolio-hosted site was the event's Official Image Site.)

If you like Zenfolio and decide to pursue the suggestion you are welcome to use my Zenfolio referral code 8D1-PKN-B8F, which will save you a few dollars when you sign-up after a free trial.  Let me know what you think.

Regards
