No need. The subject under discussion was whether or not photography has changed over time, not whether or not Ansel Adams was, or would be a great photographer today. My point was that if Ansel Adams were magically transfered to this day and age and only had his old equipment to work with he would not be able to distinguish himself by his photography.
Suggesting a hypothysis where Ansel Adams is magically transported to the present day but is unable to update his gear was my way of supporting my statement that photography has changed quite a bit over the years.
Personally I would drool over his equipment and the chance to talk with him, as would many others, and I am sure that he would still be a very interesting person, but progress, IMO, has dramatically changed photography and how we take pictures.
