Same old...same old. Your ability to earn a living is wholly dependent on
the narrow field of view of any panel of judges for any given show. Then you
get to pay for the privilege. I have just filed a patent for a must have
tool for art show artists. It called the "Armadillo Skin tm" You wear it
throughout the show life cycle process and then roll up into a ball to head
down the road to the next one! ;-)

Lee - thanks for sharing this. It is, in my opinion, both informative AND
scary. Not to mention depressing and discouraging. I thought many of the
images to be pure crap, but I suppose it comes across to many jurors as
"cutting edge" art.
Since many are returning photographers, one can only presume they are
successful in actually selling something to someone; at least enough to make
the show worthwhile to do again.
It is what it is, but to me it ain't a purty picture.
