I know lots of smart people (I'm pretty smart myself, BBA, Accounting), and I know lots of rich people. They're sometimes mutually exclusive groups. Also, high IQ's seldom equate to "common sense".

Oops I forgot, I was a member of Mensa and found them to be from all walks of life and political persuasions. However, the overriding sentiment at most get togethers was "If I'm so smart, why ain't I rich".

Ah a Paulista. Well I have never mentioned Glenn Beck, or Rush Limbaugh both
of whom I might listen to once or twice a year.
I scored 1512 on my SAT test, before they cheapened it, have an IQ of 148,
majored in Chemistry and took classes like Thermodynamics, Physical
Chemistry, Differential Equations, Matrix Algebra and Relativistic Physics
and maintained my place on the presidential honor roll the whole time in a
top 25 school. No art theory or history of french basket weavers for me. I
have been invited to join Mensa, was a member of Phi Eta Sigma honor society
and was a National Merit Scholar.
Since I place in the 99.995 Percentile of intelligence there is 4 chances
out of 10,000 that you are in the same or higher grouping.
It's obviously that collectivists, aka liberals are a lot more likely to toe
the party line than are the pack of highly individualist people who call
themselves Conservatives. Most liberals have no sense of history, don't know
anything about the Constitution, don't even know that Hitler was one of
them: a socialist. Nor do they understand physics or maths. MSM liberal
journalists even maintained a secret email list where they got there
marching orders every morning from the DNC. It was called journolist. So
much for independent thinking.
