[artshow_photo] Advice Sought on Gaining Experience

I'm confident in my landscapes and still lifes,  I'm confident in my portraits. I don't have experience shooting weddings and engagements.
 
I'm considering placing a Craigslist advert offering to shoot weddings and engagements free of charge, hopefully in conjunction with the couple's photographer, but I also don't want to take away from the professionals.
 
Any suggestions or advice?
