I really don't think there's a good preventive solution. Little kids want to touch. Most parents DO control their own, but you will always find some kids who "control" their parents.
If your bin pieces are in clear bags, you've got no worries there. If they're not, you need to bag them.
For hanging pieces (with glass), just keep some paper towels and a bottle of window cleaner handy.
FWIW - Sales are rarely made to patrons with pets or small children.
