I just spent five weeks in Italy with the Nikon D7000. It's a great camera
with amazing low light little noise. Video is also very good. I recommend
it at about $1200. Certainly the best "stop gap" camera available until the
camera companies bring out the new higher end lines. I also recommend the
Black Rapid camera strap if you are going to be carrying the camera and big
lens around.
