Re: [artshow_photo] Camera Investment?????

that's great help Kevin, on closer inspection my 43-86 and 28 are pre AI and my 80-200 and 55 micro are AI. I was looking at the D300 or 7000. I would able to use 80 to 200 which would love the birds and the 55.

Do you have comments on the quality difference versus price?

As you can guess I'm old school, starting in press photography in 73 with a twin lens Mamyia 330. (people got to tell me that women weren't press photographers!) Ha ha! Then I had a studio. I took a break from photography in 1995 and now I'm a newby to digital. I love it. I used to wait 2 weeks for UPS to deliver my wedding proofs!

I don't really understand the image quality beyond mp and lenses. What specs should I be looking for? I appreciate your tips.

Read this. That's old enough to need to check all your lenses.

How vintage are the lenses? With nikon there's some really old lenses that
will damage modern bodies if you try to mount them

I'm looking at investing in a new camera. I'd love to afford waterproofing,
use my vintage Nikkor lenses and stay under $3000.
Any thoughts
