IMHO any show that runs after sundown and doesn't offer electricity
is NOT a good art show - period. That's something the promoters
should have considered. You can't buy art in the dark. Avoid those
shows and complain loudly so they get the message.
I am doing a show this weekend that does not offer electricity,
but does not run past 6pm. Even so, I desperately want electricity
because the temperatures here in Texas are already running over
90 degrees in the day and I NEED to run fans as well as lights.
The show promoters need to get the message, even If I have to
pay extra for the electricity.
Overcast and rainy days etc are a problem. Most shows prohibit
generators because of the fumes and noise. Hopefully you have
a tent with a skylight panel or two. The only consolation is that all
the other artists are in the same boat.
