Moving from my d200, the D7000 felt fine. I used the latter for about 3
hours, and in that whole time I didn't have any problems with handling. It
didn't feel like a toy, as some of low end cameras can. The best thing,
though, would be for you to hold one. (Or to buy from a place with a good
return policy.) That way, you can check feel and ergonomics for yourself.
My friend moved from a D200 to the D7000, and he has nothing but praises for
the latter.
