Re: [artshow_photo] Re: Canvas Printing

I don't know - I've see Cosco canvas and am not impressed - all look a little
dull and lifeless! I would have a hard time charging top dollar with Cosco
canvas.

Plus how many styles of canvas do they have. I think that is my biggest beef as
I just don't like their choice of canvas. Too flat!

One of the good things about Costco and the reason so many professional
photographers now use them is the ability to download a color profile for their
machines and the ability to turn off corrections so that the photographer can
get prints to their own preferences.

I can agree with everything said with the exception of the Costco remark.
Costco is simply the machine and for smaller prints the same machine used
in the most expensive professional labs. The quality is in the detail and
that
is done by the photographer who submits the file. Some of the really high
end
labs may have someone in between the photographer and the machine who
does the work (makes the corrections) that the photographer should have
done.
If so they normally charge for the service.
Doesn't work much differently from the days of film where the professional
lab had some who covered the butts of the sloppy photographer.
