Re: [artshow_photo] Re: What constitutes a good show?

I'm not sure the "real" unemployment rate really has that much to do with Art
fairs but I guess it would if you are selling a lot of $20 pieces. Personally I
feel the people buying art are not hurting. They have big walls that need big
pieces and spending a few hundred is not that big of a deal.

Now if you are depending on $20 and $100 sales that might be a different story
but then again, the economy is better then it was last year and last year was
not all that bad for selling smaller items.

People are buying luxuries again. One of the biggest litmus tests are campers
which are a luxury item. Many economists watch camper sales and this year has so
far been a very very good year for camper sales.

I believe we can no longer use the economy for an excuse.

That's pretty low for a 2 day sale. Though sales can very depend on how long
you've been doing shows as to how well you've been able to tune your booth,
display, sales approach, and pricing.

Keep in mind the "real" unemployment rate in the U.S. is about 15%. Can't
expect "great" show sales when so many are out of work and those that have jobs
aren't likely to buy many luxuries.
