Hi All,
I'm Dawn Heitsch and I'm new to the forum. I'm an amateur (in the sense
that I photograph because I love it!). I have been taking pictures for
20+ years (I've done a little bit of commercial work), but I have never
tried to sell them. After doing other things in my life, I've recently
decided to go back to photography and try to sell my work, especially at
art shows: see Ausra Designs <http://www.ausradesigns.com/> .
My question is this: is there still a problem with photographic Giclee
prints at art shows (I print on canvas then hand-color with oil paints)?
I have read through many posts here and it seems the last were dated
around 2005. Do they still require that we show some a certificate of
authenticity from the printer stating we "supervised" the printing?
I recently completed my first show and found if I explain the process to
potential buyers, most are assured of the validity of the work. Should I
have some sort of printed material to hand out or display for next time?
Thank you and any advice or input would be greatly appreciated!
~Dawn
